Chair's Message
President Greetings (Remarks)
Tomoko Yorozu
Professor, Department of Anesthesiology, Kyorin University School of Medicine
We are holding the International Conference on Anesthesia Patient Safety 2024 (ICAPS2024) in Tokyo on February 9th to 11th 2024, which is cohosted by JSA, JFA, APSF and ASA.
The Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation (APSF) Newsletter is the official publication of the nonprofit APSF and is published three times per year in electronic format.
Translation of the Newsletter started in 2017. First, the pioneer country was Japan. Since then, the APSF Newsletter has been translated in 6 additional languages, Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic and Russian.
To celebrate this five-year success, the APSF proposed that the Japanese Society of Anesthesiologists (JSA) hold a worldwide joint symposium on patient safety. In collaboration with ASA/APSF, the JSA, cohosting with the Japan Federation of Anesthesiologists (JFA), this historic first meeting will take place in February of 2024.
ICAPS 2024 will provide an international perspective to perioperative patient safety.
The goal is to contribute to the improvement of safe perioperative management worldwide.
The APSF's top ten priorities will be the focus of discussion during the meeting, and the activities that each country has been working on independently or in collaboration with others will be presented and discussed. As a public interest-incorporated association, JSA will devote efforts to achieve success for ICAPS 2024.
Simultaneous interpretation between Japanese and English will be arranged for every program session to enable the participants to experience the lively discussion to the full extent.
We hope this meeting will initiate, expand, and enrich the anesthesia patient safety movement regionally and worldwide.
